
Challenges
This project therefore involved several challenges:
- Improve tracking and management of advertising costs linked to booking data.
- Industrialise processing to guarantee fluid, scalable management of marketing data flows.
- Train the team in the use of DBT, to make the company autonomous on this new platform.
The objectives were clear: migrate workflows to DBT Core, improve data quality and guarantee higher performance than the previous tool.
Solution
ActinVision’s support was structured around three key phases:
Phase 1: Onboarding
- A series of workshops was organised with the Data team and the Business teams to understand the processes in place and define the customer’s specific needs.
- Naming conventions were defined and the project’s technical architecture validated (Snowflake, Dataiku, DBT, Airflow environments).
- Skills transfer sessions prepared the team for the integration of new tools and the implementation of the DBT solution.
Phase 2: POC DBT
- A common base for DBT was established, with the necessary environments put in place and the integration of the CI/CD process in collaboration with the customer.
- ActinVision has implemented the cost logic for one or two partners to validate how the solution works in a real-life setting.
- Once the logic had been validated, the team was trained to apply this method to other marketing levers (SEA, Affiliation, Paid Social, etc.).
Phase 3: POC review and skills development
- A detailed debriefing enabled us to assess the results obtained and adjust processes if necessary.
- Complete project documentation was integrated directly into DBT, guaranteeing data traceability and long-term ease of use.
- Additional workshops were organised to ensure the team’s increased competence, enabling a successful transition to autonomy on DBT.
