This project aimed to :
- Encouraging the sharing of knowledge and best practices
- Promote the development of Self-BI skills in business departments
- Create synergies between data profiles spread over 10 entities
- Integrate data into operational activities
- Enhancing the value of innovation stemming from field use
- Raising the profile of HMBI’s offering
Solution
Support was structured around the creation of a Self-BI Business Units community, following a three-stage methodology:
Phase 1: Framing and identifying needs
- 10 interviews with 20 employees from different business lines
- Summary of expectations
- Organisation of 5 co-construction workshops with the HMBI team
Phase 2: Community launch
- Inaugural event with plenary session, team building, goodies and cocktail reception
- Presentation of the community’s challenges, objectives and commitments
Phase 3: Setting up promotional levers
- Canal Teams dedicated to mutual support and exchange
- SharePoint site centralizing resources (FAQ, documentation, tutorials, etc.)
- Subject mapping to quickly identify available reports
- Half-day coaching sessions with BI experts
- Webinars on governance, use cases and data domains
- Documented KPI dictionary (definitions, management rules, sources)
- Monthly newsletter with news, roadmap, Power BI tips
- Forums and success stories to showcase industry achievements

Thanks to the collective momentum generated by HMBI, Self-BI is now better structured, better disseminated and fully integrated into business practices.
